At long last the Washington County School District has decided that the elementary school that our kids go to is in shambles. You can tell when you walk down the halls that the floors have about 9 billion coats of wax on them. I attribute the wax to the feeling of the low ceilings. All that wax makes me feel taller. The building looks like it was built in the 1950's or earlier and it's just way to run down to put any more money into. Due to the construction of a new elementary school there has been road construction on the street just below our house and for the last week the road has been closed because of a massive trench cut across it. There are signs posted on the top of our street and also on the other side of the construction to notify all drivers, pedestrians and stray pets that the road is closed except for the people who live down this road. Our road. The one where we live. Nobody else needs to come down it because it is closed and they can't get through. Needless to say there is always the people who think they are the exception to such rules. (ei. idiots, morons, just basically stupid people.) The first day the road was closed we had someone drive into our yard to turn around. You guys know Jeff and myself and we could really care less if someone needs to turn around in our yard. What set us off though was when they found the need to drive over our second water meter and break some bricks on their way out. A little irritated, Jeff called me at work and I told him to call the city to see if there was anything they could do. We saw a police officer in front of our house for about 10 minutes but they left pretty quick. There isn't a whole lot going on down a closed road. Jeff seemed to let it go. On Wednesday Jeff went to work a little irritated and couldn't get out of his bad mood until later that evening when we met him at my parents for dinner and yule tide entertainment. He though he was feeling better until we got back home and he saw that someone drove right through our yard. They actually drove through the entrance where the grass is and out the other side where the dirt and gravel are. Lunacy I tell ya. Jeff was all set off again.
I find it a little strange that things are setting him off like they do lately. The other day he went outside and yelled at a couple of kids walking by something I thought he would never do. He just never ceases to surprise me. Maybe he will actually be able to put Natalie's dates in the hot seat when the time comes. This is all so exciting.
